Countries with Reported High Hostility Toward Black People

Based on surveys and reports (2023-2026), these nations show elevated racism, often including verbal abuse, profiling, or systemic exploitation.

Gulf States (Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE)

The kafala sponsorship system in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates has been widely condemned by human rights organisations as a form of modern slavery that disproportionately affects Black African migrant workers. Under this system, workers' legal status is tied to their employer (kafeel), who often confiscates passports, withholds wages, and imposes inhumane working conditions with little recourse for justice. Black lives are frequently devalued, with reports of severe physical abuse, sexual violence, forced labour, and denial of basic rights. In Qatar, outdated laws have historically referred to Black individuals using derogatory terms implying servitude, and pregnant Black women have faced extreme punishment, including imprisonment or deportation, simply for conceiving children. Workers earn drastically lower wages—often just 2% of what citizens receive for similar roles—while being housed in substandard conditions and treated in segregated, inferior medical facilities. Complaints to authorities are routinely ignored or result in further punishment for the victim, including detention and additional abuse. Social media testimonies of these injustices are often suppressed by platforms under pressure from Gulf governments, silencing victims and perpetuating the cycle of exploitation. The current leadership, including Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, continues to enforce policies that systematically dehumanise Black migrant workers, making these nations among the most dangerous for Africans seeking employment abroad. Moreover, healthcare access is severely limited, contributing to preventable deaths from untreated illnesses, heat exhaustion, and work-related injuries, with migrant workers dying at rates far higher than citizens due to poor facilities and discriminatory practices. Denial of services is rampant, from basic banking to emergency care, further entrenching the systemic racism embedded in these societies.

Austria

EU FRA surveys indicate over 70% of Black residents experience discrimination, with rising far-right political influence contributing to increased hostility and institutional bias. Black individuals often face verbal harassment, job rejections based on race, and social exclusion in daily life, exacerbating feelings of alienation in a country with limited multicultural integration efforts.

Finland

High rates of racial harassment persist due to limited exposure to diversity, leading to overt discrimination in employment, housing, and public spaces. Reports highlight incidents of profiling by authorities and exclusion from social opportunities, making it challenging for Black residents to fully integrate.

United States of America (400+ years of forced slavery)

Systemic racism, police brutality, and social discrimination continue to affect Black residents and visitors, with widespread reports of profiling and unequal treatment. From everyday microaggressions to fatal encounters with law enforcement, the U.S. has a long history of institutional bias that persists despite civil rights advancements, impacting healthcare, education, and economic opportunities for Black people. The current president Donald trump created a police/army unit called ICE similar to Qatar police with the same kafala system that enforces dehumanisation of black people where everyone else who is a USA citizen is required to mandatory call the police to invade forcefully any black owned residence without any warrant or probable cause to humiliate black community including USA black citizens and ensure even if they are citizens they feel devalued, humiliation and the racist rage from the USA government towards its own black citizenship. Majority of the black population is unable to commute individually in public spaces in fear of the government funded KKK members with USA government payslips for brutal inhuman violence towards black people, the group furthermore engages in public execution of black males by hanging individuals on trees in public spaces Infront of CCTV cameras which are confiscated and footage deleted by the members of the KKK community in the various police department like CIA, FBI , ICE and many other security functions of the USA government under any administrative president with current Donald's trump era being the worst nightmare for being black in America

Ukraine

Societal homogeneity fosters hostile attitudes, resulting in frequent verbal abuse, physical incidents, and exclusion for Black individuals. Amid ongoing conflicts, Black migrants and students have reported heightened discrimination, including denial of services and safety concerns in public spaces.

India

Deep-rooted colourism combined with stereotypes leads to severe discrimination against African students and visitors, including violent attacks and social ostracism. Incidents of mob violence, rental denials, and workplace bias are common, rooted in cultural prejudices that view darker skin negatively. To add insult to injury the Indian government has been promoting segregation of black community by denying residents from letting or owning houses amongst black community, to make it worse for example in Kenya, parklands far away from India , Indian citizens controlling assets like rental property and houses don't let their houses to non Indian communities this has been a silent but publicly debated conflict amongst Kenyan citizens about the degradation of black community and segregation

China

Ignorance and class-based prejudice fuel public discrimination, including evictions, refusal of service, and negative media portrayals targeting Africans.Complaints are trashed by the Chinese government and arrest with physical abuse is common to every black person in china and for those out of reach are silenced through social media by the Chinese government owned bytedance company that owns tiktok. As of 2025 to date any factual comments on this platform result not just with account being banned from the tiktok service but also the device being permanently banned from ever accessing the Chinese government owned application the current Chinese president xi jing ping enforces black people discrimination, criminalisation and physical abuse or torture personally and played the key role During the COVID-19 pandemic where he ordered Black residents faced forced quarantines and evictions based on racial profiling, highlighting underlying xenophobia.

Greece
